Urban MinistriesDr. Scott Gostchock serves as the director of the Urban Ministries program. Scott holds an undergraduate degree in teacher education and graduate degrees in leadership and administration. He is a former teacher, principal, and university professor, and is an adjunct professor who still teaches a variety of graduate level classes for a number of colleges and universities. He is an excellent speaker, in-service facilitator, trainer, and Bible study leader on a variety of different topics from education to leadership and more, and he would be available for Bible study hours or other speaking engagements. He has served in the Twin Cities community for many years assisting youth, families, and many more. |

This special ministry to support outreach in Twin Cities Urban areas has been developed to reach cross-cultural youth and families living in WELS Churches and School Communities. | Excellence Factor Public School based Character Education Program to facilitate discussions and to give information on how appropriate character and virtues can enhance a student's future. Students will gain an understanding of:

Speakers Bureau Speakers are available to WELS/ELS groups for presentations on character and other teen and family related topics. Computer Learning Center Program is designed to give students hands-on training in a computer lab along with tutoring in basic academic subjects. Boys Traveling Basketball Community outreach program that gives youth the opportunity to play sports for WELS Twin City area Church's while being nurtured in a Christ centered environment. Harambee Harambee brings together youth from community, WELS churches, public and parochial schools. It is a youth-oriented Bible study that uses skits, games, and music to teach the Bible. Youth meet Wednesday night and host an outreach event to recruit new members once a month. Touche Flemming Tuition Assistance This is a program to obtain and disperse funds for tuition assistance to Pilgrim Lutheran School. This will assist those with financial hardships to allow all children an equal chance to attend a Christian school. |
